Nounconsumers
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Consumer is a broad label that refers to any individuals or households that use goods and services generated within the economy. The concept of a consumer is used in different contexts, so that the usage and significance of the term may vary. In economics and marketingTypically when business people and economists talk of consumers they are talking about person as consumer, an aggregated commodity item with little individuality other than that expressed in the buy/not-buy decision. However there is a trend in marketing to individualize the concept. Instead of generating broad demographic profile and psycho graphic profiles of market segments, marketers are engaging in personalized marketing, permission marketing, and mass customization. There is increasing backlash from the public over use of the label "consumer" rather than "customer", with many finding it offensive and derogatory. From Wikipedia under the

Answered by Andrew O - Tue Sep 25 12:00:58 2007 How can we the consumers put pressure on companies to stop producing so much packaging? Q. Practically everything you buy now from fresh meat to small household electrical goods is vacuum packed, boxed, shrink wrapped and enveloped in polystyrene. This packaging depletes the earths natural resouces and causes us major problems with it's disposal. Plastics in particular take years to degrade and not all are suitable for recycling. I understand goods in transit need to be protected but the problem of waste disposal seems to be spiraling out of control. What can we as consumers to curb this growth? Yes pressure on supermarkets is maybe the way forward as they can force their suppliers to reduce packaging by not renewing contacts. You are misinformed Grizzbr1, No one wants all this packaging, we simply do not have a choice! Asked by Jimbobarino - Sun Mar 18 14:13:14 2007 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments A. Besides boycotting the products and getting others to boycott overly-packaged products and letting the companies know that you are doing that, there is not much else you can do. We live in a consumer society and people want instant gratification. Many goods are now available in "single packs," thus adding to the problem. Start your own lobbying group, non-profit or website. If you are able to create enough noise and gather enough support, then you might notice a difference. Answered by zenca3 - Sun Mar 18 14:24:24 2007 How do consumers worsen global warming?
Q. I'm doing a report on global warming and I need more information on how consumers are making things worse for global warming. Also how they contribute to global warming in a bad way. Thanks! Asked by smartie - Tue Oct 14 11:48:32 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. I don't have time to go into anthropogenic CO2 as a cause of Global Warming at length. There are basic misconceptions of the IPCC bureaucratic report and the media hyperbole. I could provide hundreds of sources, but let's just go to the man who was lead author of the 3rd ipcc un report on Climate Change John Christy, who built the data set and worked with many of the models that the media and government bureaucrats misrepresent. I could swamp you with Earth geology and facts about climate and the so called consensus (non-existent). I am fully aware of man's adverse effect on the environment and our successes and failures in policies toward our own habitat. You have to separate scientific fact from media fiction to set good policy and make… [cont.] Answered by Andrew M - Thu Oct 16 23:34:44 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "consumers" Wal-Mart Voluntarily Recalls 1.5 Mln Durabrand DVD Players Due To ...
